About Us
The Obsidian Lantern House is inspired by the quiet elegance of old-world Chinese aesthetics. Drawing from this timeless era, we create modern detective case files that blend atmosphere, mystery, and thoughtful design into a story-driven experience.
Our investigations are narrative-led and designed for both solo players and groups. Delivered primarily as digital case files, each mystery is accessible anytime and anywhere—allowing you to step into an investigation instantly. Rather than sorting through static documents, every case unfolds like a living story, inviting you into a secret archive where mysteries linger within lantern-lit halls.
We also recognise the enduring appeal of physical materials—the weight of paper, the act of turning a page. For those who value this tactile experience, hardcopy formats (Print & Play) are available. It is our way of honouring traditional methods while embracing modern convenience.

What sets us apart is our focus on seamless navigation and narrative flow. With intuitive interactive design, each case guides you effortlessly through the story, keeping you immersed from the first clue to the final revelation.

The result is a modern detective experience shaped by storytelling and inspired by timeless Eastern charm. Whether digital or physical, every case invites you into a world of secrets, careful observation, and unfolding truths.

The Creator
Meet the creative mind behind The Obsidian Lantern House.
I’ve always loved reading. For years, my shelves slowly filled with books—until space became a problem. Many years ago, my partner gifted me my first e-reader, and it changed the way I read entirely. Stories became lighter to carry, easier to access, and always within reach.

Among all genres, mystery has always been my favourite. I’m drawn to thrillers filled with suspense, twists, and unanswered questions that keep you guessing until the very end. One day, I discovered mystery case file games and instantly fell in love with them. They felt just as immersive as reading a mystery novel—except this time, I wasn’t just following the story. I was solving it.
However, most of these games came in physical formats, complete with papers, photos, and evidence files. While this added realism, I often found myself unsure of what to do with everything once the case was over.

That’s when an idea took shape: What if mystery case files were more narrative-driven and available digitally—designed for solo players or groups, playable anytime and anywhere? In a digital age where most of us already own devices like laptops, tablets, e-readers, or phones, why shouldn’t mystery experiences evolve too?
That idea became The Obsidian Lantern House—a place where storytelling, mystery, and digital convenience come together, allowing players to step into a case wherever they are, whenever they choose.
